Global sewing company expands in Columbia, creating up to 50 jobs

Columbia, Indiana (WANE)-a global supplier of fabrics, tools, hardware, and sewing supplies for sailors, is expanding its business in northeastern Indiana.
Sailrite Enterprises Inc. announced on Wednesday that it plans to expand its CR 100 South headquarters to 32,500 square feet. The $3.25 million investment will expand the supply of stainless steel rigging, webbing, fabric and leather, as well as the supply of new foam packaging machinery and material handling equipment.
Indiana Interim Secretary of Commerce Jim Staton said: “Indiana’s business-friendly climate and skilled workforce continue to make Indiana an ideal place for companies such as Sailrite to grow and develop.” “We are very happy Sailrite. Choosing to drive its growth in Indiana and thank the company for its commitment to creating quality career opportunities in northeastern Indiana.” Sailrite broke ground on Thursday’s expansion.

The team hopes that the trivia night will provide opportunities for locals to showcase their knowledge in Fort Wayne and also help new immigrants understand the area.
Fort Wayne, Indiana-St. Francis University hosted the 13th 5K Annual Life Formula on campus at 1pm on Sunday.
The proceeds from the event are used to support the permanent help of the Orphanage of Notre Dame and its neighbors in Cap-Haitien, Haiti.
